Fishing, cabins and camping on one site by the Po
Fishing Camp Serravalle sits right on the river Po in Serravalle, in the province of Ferrara. Since 1996 the camp has been a base for anglers who come to the big river for catfish, wild carp, zander, bullhead catfish, barbel and mullet.
Cabins, pitches for motorhomes and caravans, and our fishing boats share the same site. From your cabin or pitch it is only a few steps to our own jetty and the river. Pitches have electricity and water, and the shower and toilet block is in the middle of the camp.
If you arrive without a boat, you can rent one of our fishing boats in two size categories. If you bring your own, you can use our jetty. Guiding, group rates and requests for single travellers are happily arranged in person.
Behind the camp are Stefan and Pamela, both from Austria, who put their heart into making sure their guests feel at home from the very first day. They are always around on site, take care of everything that matters during your stay, and make sure there's no shortage of food and drink either. Anglers are in particularly good hands here: Stefan knows the Po and its particularities inside out and supports guests with his experience as a fishing guide. The camp has been featured on Café Puls (Puls 4) and Treffpunkt Österreich zu Mittag (ATV).

Blockhouses on the Po in Serravalle

Six wooden cabins for 2 to 4 people. All have air conditioning and a fridge. There is no private bathroom — showers and toilets are in the sanitary block a few steps away.

Fishing on the Po in Serravalle
World-class fishing in pristine nature with a variety of fish species
At the fishing camp on the Po in Serravalle you fish right on the river. Catfish, carp, zander, barbel and mullet show up through the season. Cabin, boat and pitch sit on the same ground, and the mooring is a short walk from the bank.

- When is the fishing season on the Po?
- The camp is open from March to November. Catfish runs mainly from May to October, wild carp from April to November. You bring your own Emilia-Romagna fishing licence. The camp does not issue it.
- Which species are in the Po at Serravalle?
- The water holds catfish, wild carp, zander, bullhead catfish, barbel and mullet. Weights on the site are experience from this stretch, not a catch guarantee.
- How do you fish at the camp?
- Catfish mainly from May to October with catfish fishing, vertical fishing or spinning. Carp from April to November on the bottom, with boilies or method feeder. Zander, bullhead, barbel and mullet are fished through the season, including spinning, feeder and bottom fishing.
- How many people sleep in a cabin?
- Six cabins stand on the grounds. Sleeping space is 2 to 4 beds depending on the house. The exact layout is on each cabin and can change if a house is refitted.
- What is inside the cabins?
- Depending on the house there are bunks, double or single beds, a table, a fridge and air conditioning. Some houses also have a TV, wardrobe or outdoor seating. The list is on each house.
- What does a cabin cost per person?
- The price depends on occupancy and is per person per day, with a lower weekly rate. Cabin plus boat is listed as a combination on the prices page. Children up to 8 stay free, ages 8 to 12 get the reduced rate.
- What does a pitch on the Po cost?
- The pitch for 2 people including power, and each extra person, follow the current price list. Children up to 8 stay free, ages 8 to 12 get the reduced rate. The figures are on the prices page.
- What does a boat cost per day?
- Outdoor with a boat is charged per person and day by occupancy and category. There are weekly rates and a cabin-plus-boat combination. Current figures are on the prices page.
